The four types of provider
Swiss providers can be sorted into four types, by team size. That size changes the way they work, and often the price.
- Freelancer: one person working for themselves.
- Small agency: 2 to 9 people.
- Mid-sized agency: 10 to 29 people.
- Large agency: 30 people or more.
Published prices, type by type
These ranges come from the prices Swiss providers publish on their own sites. “Usually” means the middle half of the published prices: a quarter of the offers cost less, a quarter cost more.
| Service | Freelancer | Small agency | Mid-sized agency | Large agency |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hourly rate | CHF 100–150 | CHF 140–190 | CHF 150–190 | rarely published |
| Website, one-off | CHF 800–2,000 | CHF 1,500–5,000 | CHF 3,900–9,900 | rarely published, by quote |
| Online store, one-off | CHF 2,500–3,500 | CHF 4,500–12,500 | CHF 8,000–12,900 | rarely published, by quote |
| SEO, per month | CHF 300–700 | CHF 600–2,500 | CHF 1,500–3,250 | rarely published |
| Google Ads management, per month, excluding the ad budget | CHF 390–790 | CHF 490–1,000 | CHF 990–2,000 | rarely published |
| AI visibility (GEO, AEO), per month | CHF 290–1,040 | CHF 550–1,750 | CHF 1,800–2,700 | rarely published |
Published prices, surveyed in October 2026, in Swiss francs. Large agencies rarely publish their prices: they price each project with a quote. Many of these prices exclude VAT. In that case, 8.1% is added to the invoice.
The same word doesn’t always cover the same work. A “website” can have one page or fifteen, with or without the text. Before you compare two prices, look at what each offer includes.
Strengths and limits of each type
Freelancer
Strengths. Prices are usually lower. You talk directly to the person doing the work. And they adapt easily to the way you do things.
Limits. There’s only one pair of hands. A vacation, an illness or a busy month, and everything slows down. They often have one specialty, such as design, SEO or Google Ads, rarely all of them. And if they stop, everything has to start over with someone else.
Small agency
Strengths. It brings several skills together under one roof. You keep the same point of contact. And its prices stay reasonable.
Limits. Its capacity is limited for a big project. It depends on a few key people. And quality varies a lot from one agency to the next: look at work they’ve already delivered before you choose.
Mid-sized agency
Strengths. It has a full team: design, development, SEO and campaigns. Its project method is well tested. When someone is away, a colleague takes over.
Limits. Its prices are higher, and project management time is billed too. You often deal with a project manager rather than the person doing the work.
Large agency
Strengths. It has the capacity for big projects: several languages, several sites, highly specialized experts and brand strategy.
Limits. Its minimum budgets are high and its prices rarely published. Small requests come after those of big clients. And there are often several intermediaries between you and the person doing the work.
How to choose, based on your project
| Your project | What often fits | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A small brochure website | A freelancer or a small agency | A few pages call for few different skills. A good freelancer does it very well. A small agency can also write the text and design the site. |
| An online store | A small or mid-sized agency | A store needs design, payments, shipping, the catalog and sales tracking. It’s simpler when those skills work together. |
| Ongoing SEO, month after month | A specialized freelancer or a small agency | The work is regular and needs continuity. Ask who takes over your account during vacations. |
| Google Ads campaigns | A specialized freelancer, or a small or mid-sized agency | For one or two campaigns, a specialist is enough. With several campaigns, pages to build and tests to run, a team keeps up the pace better. |
| A large project in several languages | A mid-sized or large agency | It takes several people working in parallel, and someone for each language. |
Whatever you choose, ask what the offer includes: the number of pages, who writes the text, what each step covers, and whether VAT is added.
Where our prices sit
Our prices are fixed: one for each project, and one a month for each plan, with no VAT on top. They’re written in advance, like an agency’s. And you talk to the same person from the first call to launch.
With us, a 5-page brochure website costs CHF 2,500 if you provide the text and photos, or CHF 4,400 if we design and write it. A WooCommerce store with up to 50 products costs CHF 10,500. These prices sit in the small agency range. All our prices, and what each one covers, are on the prices page.
We work mostly for small businesses: their website, their online store, their SEO and their campaigns. For a large project in several languages, a bigger agency will serve you better.
