ChatGPT Business or Enterprise: what changes
The Business plan suits most small businesses. It covers teams of 2 to 200 people, with single sign-on (SSO), central billing and connections to Google Workspace, Slack or Microsoft 365. You can mix seats: Standard for most people, Premium for those who use it all day. And by default, OpenAI doesn’t train its models on your business data, according to its pricing page.
Enterprise is aimed at large organizations, and its price is negotiated. It adds user management at scale, your own encryption keys, adjustable data retention, round-the-clock support and a choice of the region where your data is stored.
ChatGPT Plus, at CHF 20 a month, and Pro, from CHF 83, are individual plans: OpenAI reserves Business and Enterprise for organizations.
Microsoft 365 Copilot: the price for a small business
If your business already runs on Microsoft 365, Copilot is added to your subscription: CHF 17 per person per month billed annually, before VAT. For a subscription started by December 31, 2026, Microsoft offers it at CHF 14.57 for the first year. Copilot then works in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, with your own files and emails.
For large enterprises, Microsoft 365 Copilot costs CHF 24.30 per person per month billed annually. Microsoft notes that some advanced AI features are billed by usage, on top of the license.
ChatGPT or Copilot for a business
If your days are spent in Outlook, Teams and Excel, Copilot is already there, and it knows your files. If you want a separate assistant that also connects to Google Workspace or Slack, ChatGPT Business does the job. To decide, try both for a month with two or three people.
Claude, Gemini and Mistral for a business
Claude
Claude Team costs USD 20 per seat per month billed annually, or USD 25 billed monthly, for 2 to 150 people. The Premium seat, at USD 100, gives you five times more usage. Claude Enterprise starts at USD 20 per seat, with a minimum of 20 seats, plus usage billed at API rates.
Gemini
At Google, Gemini is included in Google Workspace, along with email and storage. The Starter plan, at USD 7 per person per month billed annually, only has it in Gmail. From Standard up, at USD 14, it also works in Docs, Sheets, Meet and the other apps.
Mistral
The French company has renamed Le Chat as Vibe. On its pricing page, the Pro plan costs USD 14.99 a month and Team USD 24.99 per user per month, before tax. The Enterprise version, on request, can be installed on your own servers or in your private cloud.
Your confidential data: what the vendors say
This is often the real question. Before you put customer data into an AI tool, check two things: are your conversations used to train the models, and where are they stored? Here’s what each vendor says on its official pages.
| Tool | Training on your data | Where your data is |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT Business and Enterprise | No, by default. | Enterprise: your choice of ten regions, including the European Union. Switzerland isn’t on the list. |
| Claude Team and Enterprise | No, by default. | The pricing page doesn’t say. |
| Microsoft 365 Copilot | No: your prompts, the responses and your files aren’t used to train the foundation models. | Microsoft includes Switzerland in its EU Data Boundary, along with the EU and EFTA, and Copilot is part of it. The Anthropic models offered in Copilot are excluded. |
| Gemini (Google Workspace) | No, not without your permission. | The page doesn’t describe a storage region for most features. |
| Mistral Vibe | Yes, unless you turn it off. Enterprise customers are excluded by default. | Enterprise can be installed on your premises, and your data stays there, according to the pricing page. |

One point matters more than which tool you pick: on ChatGPT’s free and Plus accounts, your conversations are used for training unless you opt out, according to OpenAI’s page. A team license gives you these settings for everyone. Keep customer data out of personal accounts.
To know whether a specific use complies with the nFADP, Switzerland’s data protection law, a lawyer is still the right person to ask.
A license per person, or an assistant built on your documents
A license gives each colleague a general-purpose assistant. It writes, summarizes and translates, and that’s already a lot. But it doesn’t know your prices, your procedures or your clients, unless everyone pastes in the right documents every time.
An assistant built on your content answers from your site, your PDFs and your usual replies. It serves your customers on your site, or your team in-house. Plan on CHF 3,000, then CHF 300 a month for ongoing care if you want it. If it also needs to take action, like booking an appointment or preparing a quote, it’s an agent: CHF 4,000 to 6,000.
Where to start
- Your colleagues want to write, summarize, search: get licenses for two or three people, for a month.
- They don’t know what to do with it: a half-day workshop, prepared around their real tasks, costs CHF 800.
- The same questions come up every day: an assistant built on your documents.
- You’re still on the fence: the AI audit, for CHF 1,000, ranks your tasks by the time they would give back to you. It’s credited in full if you start an AI project within 30 days.
Elsewhere in Switzerland, published starting prices for an agent or a chatbot range from CHF 450 to 60,000, with a median of CHF 2,850. Published prices, surveyed in November 2026, mostly before VAT.
When another provider is a better fit
If you only want licenses, buy them directly from the vendor: you don’t need anyone in between. To roll out AI to hundreds of people, on your own servers and with strict security requirements, an integrator with a dedicated team will be better placed.
